Introduction to WKF Africa
Welcome to the WKF Africa website the home of real mixed martial arts fighting in Africa covering MMA, K-1, Muay Thai, Extreme Striking and Kickboxing focusing on the professional level but working down to the grass roots development.of our amateur clubs and fighters and hopefully motivating them with the achievements of the pro stars and getting our African amateurs involved at a continental and world level of competition.
The purpose of the site is to bring all the African countries together as a group and to grow the various fighting sports at all levels across the continent and to promote the top African fighters on to a world stage.
We have already taken an 8 man team of professional fighters from South Africa to Reunion this year for a great event including ALL the key WKF fighting styles mentioned above. It was great experience and a great success for all.
Let’s work together to expand on this great idea.
The new site will feature national rankings and All African continental rankings for each of the disciplines. As new African continental champions are made they then have an automatic right to challenge for intercontinental titles and beyond.
As we move into 2012 we will be pushing for national title fights in all countries on a regular basis and being the national champion will become a key factor in being offered international title opportunities.
We know there are great African fighters waiting to be discovered and we hope that each country will send news updates at least once a month with results, rankings and photos to promote each countries national activities and star fighters.
Who are WKF
WKF (World Kickboxing Federation) are one of the world’s largest sanctioning bodies particularly in relation to professional fighting.
WKF is now represented in over 100 separate countries making it the true global player and offering real international opportunities to all its members.
With national, continental and world championships at amateur through to the highest professional levels of world title competition great opportunities are on offer for our fighters on a real world stage.
With the explosion of MMA and Cage Fighting in general across the world WKF offers real global opportunities to compete and be seen overseas and to win recognized international MMA honours.
With 2012 seeing amateur MMA World Championships taking place with WKF it can be safely said that WKF offers greater world level opportunities than any other organization especially with the explosive new Extreme Striking Championships at both amateur and professional levels adding to MMA, K-1, Kickboxing, Low Kick and Muay Thai.
